DAMPAK ARUS URBANISASI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI DI KABUPATEN MAMUJU

Abstract

Urbanisasi dapat berakibat negatif apabila pertumbuhannya dapat menghambat pembangunan ekonomi, namun tanpa urbanisasi sebuah daerah akan sulit berkembang. Pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu negara akan dimaksimalkan di daerah perkotaan karena percepatan ekonomi terkonsentrasi disana.  Mamuju adalah salah satu Provinsi yang masih dalam tahap pengembangan walaupun merupakan Ibu Kota Provinsi namun masih berstatus Kabupaten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apa dampak urbanisasi terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Kabupaten Mamuju. Hasilnya arus urbanisasi berbanding lurus dengan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Penambahan jumlah penduduk dibarengi dengan perluasan infrastruktur dan fasilitas dasar seperti kesehatan, pendidikan, dan transportasi. Hal ini juga berkontribusi pada penciptaan lapangan kerja baru dengan membangun infrastruktur ekonomi yang memadai di perkotaan.

Urbanization can have negative effects if its growth hinders economic development; however, without urbanization, a region would struggle to progress. The economic growth of a country is maximized in urban areas because economic acceleration is concentrated there. Mamuju is one of the provinces still in the development stage, even though it is the capital of the province, it is still classified as a regency. This study aims to understand the impact of urbanization on economic growth in Mamuju Regency. The findings show that urbanization flows are directly proportional to economic growth. The increase in population is accompanied by the expansion of infrastructure and basic facilities such as healthcare, education, and transportation. This also contributes to the creation of new jobs by building adequate economic infrastructure in urban areas.
