Dailymakassar.id. MAKASSAR. The Government of Makassar received the 2021 Child-Friendly City award from the Indonesian Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection (KPPPA).
The award was given virtually at the mayor’s private residence, Thursday (29/7/2021), for the intermediate level category. The Makassar Government is considered to have met the criteria in evaluating the performance of all child stakeholders in the area.
Secretary of PPPA Makassar City, Syahniar, explained that Makassar City received the middle-level KLA category based on an assessment of five categories for child-friendly cities.
“So there are five categories of assessment, namely the fulfillment of children’s civil rights and freedoms; fulfillment of children’s rights to a family environment and alternative care; fulfillment of children’s rights to health and welfare; fulfillment of children’s rights to education, use of leisure time and cultural activities; and special protection of children,” said Syahriar.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Makassar, Moh. Ramdhan ‘Danny’ Pomanto, together with the Chairman of TP PKK of Makassar, Indira Jusuf Ismail, appreciated the achievements received by the Makassar PPPA Office.
“With the middle category award for Makassar City, children in Makassar City can be protected in terms of health services, education is closer to children,” said Danny. [Ib]
